CONSCIOUS CANINE WORKSHOP

Alpine Humane Society Presents:
Conscious Canine workshop, facilitated by David Sleeper. Information and simple instructions on how you can model behavior that will help your dog become a conscious thinker and puzzle-solver, giving your dog the tools to town their self-created identity and internal morality by doing the exact opposite of traditional dog training. According to David, canine wisdom and consciousness are obtained through common sense understanding of how animals communicate through 'claiming space.' Info will also include rattlesnake, skunk, and porcupine avoidance.

Folks may have seen David Sleeper and his dog Tejona riding around Marfa on their motorcycle. Sleeper moved to Presidio County in 1973 and as the owner of Fresno Ranch became the largest breeder of mules in Texas. HIs paradoxical methods of creating consciousness with equines, dogs and children are the exact opposite of traditional training methods. We have seen the results and would like to share sleeper's philosophies with our community. he is currently artists in Residence at the International Woman's Foundation at Building 98 finishing up a book. The Seminar will be 7- pm on Monday, August 21 inside the TeePee at Planet Marfa.
